A Major Milestone as Construction Moves Above Ground

Evanston, IL — Construction projects often have long stretches when progress isn't immediately visible from the street. Much of the site activity taking place at The Legacy Evanston has involved essential underground infrastructure work critical to the building's construction.

Now, that groundwork is paying off. With the geothermal network complete, caissons poured, utilities connected, foundations underway and the tower crane arriving next week, The Legacy Evanston is poised to enter its next chapter.

The Tower Crane Is Coming

Crews are currently working on the foundations, preparing the site for the next major step in construction. The tower crane is scheduled to be erected next week, setting the stage for the vertical construction phase.

Once the crane is in place, the pace and progress of the project will become much more observable and Evanston residents and passersby will soon be able to watch The Legacy Evanston take shape floor by floor.

For those closely following the project, September should be an especially exciting month.  The building is expected to begin rising out of the ground in September and continue growing until the topping off of the roof is achieved later this Fall.
